I was born in Reynosa, Mexico where I grew up. I have been married for 25 years to Heriberto Solis, also a Reynosa native. We live in Mission and have a 20 year old daughter attending college at UT-Austin.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and I am a Texas Certified Teacher for Early Childhood through 4th grade. I am also passionate of the Montessori Methodology which I have learned through training provided by the “Sierra Madre Montessori School” in Monterrey, Mexico and in McAllen, TX.
I decided to become a teacher after working for 9 years in Manufacturing because I truly believe that as a teacher I have the opportunity to nurture the children’s innate curiosity to help them develop a lifelong enthusiasm for learning and this has become my goal as an educator.
This is my 14th year in the teaching profession and my 13th at Horizon Montessori Public Schools where I have the privilege to help children learn and develop their independence.

Currently, I am the Reading and Social Studies teacher for 3rd grade. I enjoy traveling with my family and learning about the culture of the places we visit.
