Julie Hoover's Fourth Grade Writing and Science

My name is Julie Elizabeth Hoover and I am very excited to be your child's fourth grade writing and science teacher this year! I was born in McAllen, Texas, and raised in Weslaco, Texas.  I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas with a bachelor's degree in English and a minor in journalism.  After receiving my degree, I obtained a teaching certificate as a generalist in education, early childhood to fourth grade.  I soon began working as a first, then second grade teacher at Memorial Elementary in Weslaco, Texas.

After I got married, I left the valley, and focused my attention on raising two beautiful little girls who are my world!  I returned to the Rio Grande Valley in 2011, and taught English Language Arts to 4th - 6th grade students at St. John's Episcopal School in McAllen, Texas. From there, I obtained two additional teaching certificates: English Language Arts, Reading 4-8 grade, and ESL Certification.  Last year I taught English Language Arts at IDEA Public Schools in Weslaco, Texas, where I gained an immense knowledge in effective teaching techniques.  I am enthusiastic to get the chance this year to use the skills I have gained in education, as well as the love and selflessness I have gained from being a mother, to be the very best educator I can be for your child!  My promise to you is that I will treat your child as if they were my own.  I will treat every child in my classroom with the same respect, love, and compassion I would want an educator to treat my child.  To put it simply my goal as a teacher is simple; to help your child reach their goals.
